A New Assistant Conductor for 2025

Welcoming our new assistant conductor, Daphne Delfas, who will be working alongside our Music Director and conductor Harry Sever. We are very pleased to be supporting Daphne as she develops her career and gains valuable experience working with the team.

More about Daphne:

Daphne Delfas is a conductor and violinist and graduated from the University of Cambridge with a bachelor’s degree in music. She was a Cambridge University Assistant Conductor, learning with Sian Edwards at the Royal Academy of Music. She recently took part in the Glover-Edwards Conducting Course, studying with Sian Edwards, Alice Farnham and Jane Glover.

During her time in Cambridge, Daphne conducted the Cambridge University
Symphony Orchestra, and other projects including a production of Benjamin Britten’s ‘The Rape of Lucretia’. As a violinist and violist, Daphne held a Cambridge Instrumental Award, performing extensively in numerous chamber groups and receiving coaching.

As well as playing in all the university orchestras, she enjoyed performing on period instruments in the Cambridge University Collegium Musicum, under Margaret Faultless and Nicholas Mulroy.
