𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴?

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗟 𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿!

Come and join Cambridge Philharmonic Chorus for an evening, as we prepare Rachmaninov’s masterpiece ‘The Bells’. This is an open rehearsal and gives a real flavour of what we do, led by our Chorus Master Tom Primrose.

You may not have sung in a large symphony chorus before but want to experience the excitement of singing large-scale works with a full orchestra. Or you may have previous experience and are looking for a choir to join in Cambridge.

This free session gives you the opportunity to see what we do, week by week. You don’t need to know The Bells – you join us in our rehearsal process, so you’ll be learning with everyone else, and there’ll be plenty of strong singers around you and all voices are very welcome!

When – Tuesday 17th September 2024 – 7.30pm – 9.45pm (with a short break at around 8.30pm. No cost, this is a free event.

Venue – The Church of the Good Shepherd, Mansel Way, Cambridge CB4 2ET

Please arrive a few minutes early so we can sort everyone with copies of the score
What to bring: We will supply a copy of the score for ‘Rachmaninov’s The Bells ‘which we’ve just started rehearsing for a concert with the Cam Phil orchestra at West Road on 9th November. Please bring your own refreshments.

Booking a place – Email chorus-secretary@cam-phil.org.uk to book a place/let us know they’re coming – so we can make sure we have enough scores available and also put out enough chairs). However, we will welcome singers turning up on the night!

What’s next? If you enjoy the rehearsal, you are welcome to attend a few more, with the aim of auditioning for the Cambridge Philharmonic Chorus. We hold auditions for new members periodically and we do our best to make the audition process as fun and relaxing as possible. The next series of auditions are likely to be in November – so there’s time to attend some rehearsals beforehand.
